did the restart update or resume update options in that error dialogue work? The 'server error' may have nothing to do with Joomla itself.
While it may be unnecessary, can you try setting PHP to 8.2 (the recommended version)?
Did the pre-update check pass all tests? Did it report any extensions that needed to be disabled, updated or uninstalled?
Perhaps start over (restore backup to J! 4.4), and set the front-end template to Cassiopeia. then try the update again. It may be your template interfering (as per FPA: j51_amelia (1.0.0) ). This is a J4 template, but may not work in J5. Was the compatibility plugin enabled?
